I have been working in the mental health and eating disorders field since 2013 and am recognized by the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals as a Certified Eating Disorders Specialist Consultant. I also hold my Clinical Military Counseling Certificate and can provide competent care to military service members, Veterans, and dependents. I am dually licensed as a counselor in Kentucky and Alaska and have experience providing in-person and virtual services to individuals, families, and couples. 

My approach to counseling is primarily humanistic in nature and further informed by emotion-focused, multicultural, and trauma-informed practices. I center your personal needs and identities and invite collaboration for treatment planning and goal-setting. While I am trained in and utilize traditional evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Radically-Open DBT (RO-DBT), and Temperament Based Therapy with Supports (TBT-S), I ground our work in contemplative practice, self-compassion, and essential elements of spirituality.

Though I currently call Kentucky home, I grew up in the Heartland and have lived, studied, and worked all over the country. I received my B.A. in Psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, my M.A. in Counseling from Eastern New Mexico University, and my Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Adams State University. In addition to my clinical work, I serve as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Counselor Education at Adams State University.
